The best infrastructure is invisible

The best financial infrastructure disappears into the background. You never think about it. You never worry about it. It just works and your business moves faster because of it. That’s what we’re building at Ziina. We’re not there yet, but we’re closer than we were six months ago.

The most important question we hear

The single most common question we hear from merchants is deceptively simple: “ When do I get my money?”

Behind it sits the full reality of running a business. Inventory to purchase. Suppliers to pay. Salaries to process. Opportunities that appear and close quickly. A business moves at the speed of its cash flow.

Instant cash out is the most used capability on Ziina. Merchants told us, through their behaviour, through their questions, through every support conversation, that the distance between making a sale and using that money was the thing that mattered most to them.

We’ve invested more engineering time into payout speed and reliability than any other area of the platform. We’ll continue to. Access to money is the foundation everything else is built on.

Every redirect is a missed payment

Every business has experienced the customer who reaches checkout and disappears.

Sometimes the reason is price. Sometimes it's timing. Often it's friction.

For years, online payments have relied on redirects. A customer leaves a merchant's website, completes a payment elsewhere, then returns to finish their purchase. Each additional step creates the possibility of a lost sale.

We launched Embedded Checkout so that moment no longer exists. Customers complete their payment directly within the merchant's own website, without ever leaving it. Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay. English and Arabic. The merchant's brand owns the checkout from browse to paid.

The best checkout experience is the one the customer never notices.

Trust is part of the product

Fraud and chargebacks carry a cost that doesn’t appear on a balance sheet. They consume time, create uncertainty, and pull attention away from customers.

Over the last several months we rolled out 3D Secure across card top-ups, transfers, payment requests, and Google Pay. Every card payment is now bank-verified before it lands. Fraud has fallen to its lowest levels and chargebacks have fallen with it.

Merchants get paid with confidence. That’s what trust in a platform feels like.

Paperwork shouldn’t stop a business from getting paid

A business can grind to a halt because a document expired, a trade licence lapsed, a verification step nobody was tracking suddenly blocked everything.

We set out to make verification faster, clearer, and easier to manage.

Document renewals happen inside the app. Emirates ID renewal works through UAE Pass with a tap. Proactive notifications mean a merchant knows about an expiring document before it becomes a problem. Verification status updates in real time.

One business. One platform. Every way to get paid.

Customers don't move through a single channel anymore. They discover on social, buy online, pay in person, transact at events.

The merchant shouldn't need a different provider for each of those moments, so today, Ziina businesses can accept payments through links, QR codes, Tap to Pay, and Embedded Checkout on their own website - from a single platform, with a single view of their money.

One business. One platform. One view of every sale.

Seeing your money clearly

Access to money matters. So does understanding it.

We rebuilt transaction history with per-type icons and card identification so merchants can see exactly what happened and when. Refunds and disputes now link back to the original transaction. FX fees show precisely what a foreign-currency payment costs. Reconciliation that used to take time now takes a look.

What comes next

Future-proof businesses move seamlessly between channels while maintaining a consistent experience for their customers. One theme has become increasingly clear as we've spoken with merchants across the UAE. A few years ago, the focus was access to digital payments and modern financial tools. Today, the focus is efficiency

The next chapter is about making payments work harder for businesses. Faster access, lower cost, less administration, more clarity.

Checkout will go deeper. Expect paying a Ziina business online to get easier regardless of where that checkout lives. Bank-to-bank payment acceptance will give merchants alternatives to card costs. Invoicing that’s built for how UAE businesses actually work: send via WhatsApp, get paid instantly. Recurring payments so that repeat billing stops being a manual process. And continued investment in settlement infrastructure so the money always lands predictably.

What guides everything we build

The most valuable feedback we receive doesn’t usually show up as a product request.

It’s in a support ticket. A question asked twice. A workaround a merchant invented because something felt harder than it should.

Those conversations continue to shape what we build.

Every improvement starts with a business owner trying to grow and encountering something that feels harder than it should.

The best infrastructure is invisible. Our job is to keep it that way.

We'll continue sharing here what we're building and why we're building it.
